Wither Hills Farm Park - track closures due to fire danger

The hot dry summer has forced the closure of most tracks in the Wither Hills Farm Park, including the Mountain Bike Park.

Due to the ‘very high to extreme’ fire risk conditions within the Farm Park, walkers and runners are asked to stay on the lower tracks around the town boundary only, and not to venture up the gullies or ridge paths.

Cyclists are asked to avoid the Mountain Bike Park as this area would be particularly dangerous in the event of a fire.

Stick to the lower tracks to avoid risk to yourself and to fire fighters.

Signs advising of the track closures have been installed at the Farm Park. The closure of these areas will apply at all times of the day.

More FM Marlborough Foodbank Street Appeal 2019 Date Posted: Nov 27, 2019

You only realise how fast a year has gone when you are out supporting the annual foodbank appeal, when it only feels like yesterday you did the last one.

This was such a successful event which stretched across all towns in Marlborough.The cupboard was bare and in less than 3 hours we had if full.

We don’t want to risk naming organisations that have made the collection so successful as I’m sure to miss someone, this can’t be done without true community support. Thanks to the generosity of the Marlborough Community, those in need will be able to share in the Christmas spirit. 

Seddon community getting in behind the event, support by their local brigades to make the noise. Thanks Team a great effort.

RNZAF Base Woodbourne also joined in collecting around the streets on base. Once again no shortage of generosity from the community. Great effort from the Crash Fire Team and collectors.Looking forward to your support next year.
